Hi Tom, if you truly believe in an “Accident”, then you can prepare yourself by taking control of your own life, there are enough communities that can lead you the way (like the Prepper community). Expectation is that 70% of humankind will be living in Urban area’s by 2050, so they will be “trapped” if anything bad will happen. Personally I will be moving to a low-dense-populated country, with some land and self-organized facilities (like solar power & solar heated water), grow your own vegetables, repair your own stuff, etc… BUT, that is not the solution for humankind, as there is not enough of that “space” for everyone, nor will enough people have the financial support to afford such a life-style. Hence, the ERE ideas are a good preparation, make yourself FI, and choose a lifestyle that fits your fears and your dreams….good luck all, we need it
